About Labiaplasty
Once perceived as a trend-driven procedure, labiaplasty is now a common practice at Clinique Évolution. The goal of the procedure is to remove excess tissue and mucosa from the labia minora for aesthetic purposes or to address common issues experienced during various activities, including sexual intercourse.
Recognized as a leading authority in labiaplasty surgery, Dr. Geneviève F-Caron has in-depth expertise in female genital anatomy and extensive experience in performing this procedure. Her meticulous approach and high standards of precision allow for safe, natural, and aesthetically harmonious results, contributing to a high level of patient satisfaction.
Trim technique
The trim procedure makes it possible to equalize the length of an asymmetric labia minora and make it as symmetrical as possible. This technique also removes the unwanted colour from the borders of the labia minora. It’s often used when the shape or remaining skin of the vaginal lips causes discomfort.
Wedge resection with extension
Chosen by most patients, this wedge procedure modifies the excess clitoral hood tissue and spreads forward on either side. The clitoral hood reduction incision camouflages itself in the fold already present between the labia minora and majora.
This technique is especially effective for those experiencing discomfort during sexual activity or whose vagina has undergone changes due to genetics, childbirth, or aging. It can be combined with other additional procedures such as vaginal tightening for complete vaginal rejuvenation.
Wedge resection with posterior release
Some patients have posterior communication between their two labia minora. The anatomy of each patient must be evaluated and in some cases the posterior part needs to be released through a small incision to prevent discomfort during sex.
This reconstructive surgery is often part of a larger treatment plan tailored to the shape and size of the labia. Our surgical team specializes in these nuanced techniques to achieve realistic expectations and final results that enhance both appearance and function.
Labia majora reduction
The labia majora (outer lips) can be reduced through different techniques, such as fat grafting, direct resection, or radiofrequency. Direct excision is done by camouflaging the scar in the fold between the labia minora and labia majora in an elliptical fashion.
This procedure can sometimes be combined with labiaplasty, with some additional recovery time required. Whether you’re concerned with excess labial tissue, excess skin, or the shape of the labia majora outer region, our surgical team can advise the best treatment for your aesthetic concerns.
Reduction of clitoral excess
Excess skin on either side of the clitoris can be resected without labiaplasty if there is no excess in the labia minora. The incisions are camouflaged in the natural folds on each side of the clitoris.
Following an examination by plastic surgeon Dr. Geneviève F-Caron, you will be advised on the best type of labiaplasty surgery procedure for your anatomy and your goals. If you have already undergone labiaplasty or are considering revision surgery, she will explain what may be involved.
