When? For who?
The occupational therapist intervenes when daily activities become a challenge for the individual, struggling with one or more deficits. The occupational therapist’s main goal is to help the child regain their independence and reintegrate into their day-to-day activities. Unlike the physiotherapist or the osteopath, who treats localized injuries in one or the other of the affected systems, the occupational therapist is interested in the impact of the deficit on the young person’s daily functioning, in one occupational sphere, be it social, personal, academic, etc.
